Who...? What....? When...? Where...? - By: Ryan Judd, 21 Feb 2002
This is one of the earlier books, from the Murder She Wrote series and, in honesty, is one of the weakest.

It started strong, with Jessica purposely getting herself involved in a murder trail with the hope of learning more about the legal system, so she could base her next mysetery novel around a fictional court case. The book twists along at a seemingly breakneck speed, incorporating a constant stream of characters & then, without warning (other than the fact that you only have a handful of pages left of text...) it alll suddenly ends. Despite a whole host of red-herrings, deaths, confusions & near-misses, the ending was something of a letdown. I felt as if it'd alll been rushed because the author had suddenly got bored & just wanted out.

Besides the slightly bizarre conclusion, I felt the book was cluttered with too many characters & delved too deep in to the US legal system. Perhaps the author felt the same, especiallly in the last chapter when EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER was involved, alll trapped in the Judges study as Jessica solves the mystery & wrapped up the loose ends.

As a fan of the series, I feel I can confidently say that this isn't the best Donald Bain / JB Fletcher novel and, if you want to get in to the series, don't pick this one as a starter or, failing that, leave it out alll together!!

Extrodinary.....Truly worth the read.....excellent - By: , 15 Mar 2001
A Deadly Judgement....no misjudgements though! This book is one of many in the TV Series line featuring Angela Lansbury as sleuth...Jessica Fletcher. The book, an earlier edition of the series, focuses around " red-herrings " in the world of crime. The book deserves 5 stars because you feel the urge to read on....and on......and on until the end..... FANTASTIC!
