An entertaining medical mystery. - By: , 27 Jul 1999
This book eventuallly becomes a page-turner as the reader proceeds to see whether the conclusion has been guessed correctly. Sometimes the dialogue crowds out the descriptive element, leaving the mystery thin. This prevented me from being captured by the plot on my first attempt at reading the book. However, my wife & I ended up wrestling the book back & forth to see who could finish first. Being a native of northeastern Ohio & a Tribe fan, I enjoyed the liberal Cleveland references, which could be lost on a non-Buckeye. The medical references were accurate, not surprising for a physician-author. Although I wasn't the first to pick the "murder weapon", after my wife pointed it out to me it almost seemed too obvious, & the chase was to see "who dun it". I'm planning on reading more by Pomidor, especiallly to see if the flow of dialogue & narration feel more natural the next time around.
