I can only speak with the highest praise for Ms Rule. She consistantly delivers the highest quality true crime books. Highly recommended
ANOTHER GREAT TRUE CRIME STORY FROM ANN RULE - By: Paula Lees, 13 Feb 2002
I have read many of Ann Rules books & enjoyed them alll, & this one is no exception to that rule. Harvey is a detestable person throughout the story, which is brought very much to life by Anne's writing. If I had any criticisms at alll about this book, it would only be that it is too short. (I read through this in one night).
However, do not let this put you off buying & reading this book. Thoroughly enjoyable (if that's the correct term), & once again Miss Rule delivers another great peice of true crime writing.
a chilling, yet compelling read - By: , 17 Oct 2000
As a fan of Anne Rule, i am never disappointed by her writing, & again she does not fail to deliver! this book was another facinationg story, told with compassion, insight & skill. Her police training gives it an analytical & factual edge, whilst her experiences as a human give it a human perspective. i felt this story ws extremely well told, & sent a shiver down my spine when i thought of how easily this killer caught his prey. Well worth buying!
My favorite serial killer - By: , 31 Aug 1999
I know that sounds weird but Harvey Carignan's story is very intriguing & Ann Rule tells it very well. I would have liked to have read a psychological profile on "Harv the Hammer". His superhuman strength adds to his mystique.
BOOK REVIEWED BY ONE OF HARVEYS VICTIMS - By: , 21 Jul 1998
IN THE BOOK, "THE WANT ADD KILLER" MY NAME IS GERRY BILLINGS. I HAVE READ THE BOOK AND FOUND IT TO BE VERY FRIGHTENING. THE BOOK DESCRIBES A MONSTER, HARVEY CARIGNAN, WHICH IS SO TRUE! IT WAS VERY HARD FOR ME TO READ ABOUT THE MAN THAT HAS LEFT ME FULL OF FEAR, BUT AT THE SAME TIME, ONCE YOU START TO READ THIS BOOK, YOU JUST CAN NOT PUT IT DOWN. THE SAD THING ABOUT THIS WHOLE STORY IS THAT IT COULD HAVE ALL BEEN PREVENTED IF ONLY HARVEY HAD BEEN FORCED TO PAY FOR HIS CRIME BACK IN 1947, WHICH IS ALSO TOLD ABOUT IN THIS BOOK.
