ok, but not the best foley has. - By: , 20 Dec 2004
I read this book last out of the trilogy, & I can say that its my least favourite. I found Serafina rather annoying & always whinning about something or another. Darius wasn't the best rake that Foley has writen. I didn't find him dark in any sense or tormented by anything. I found, he like Serafina rather annoying & also like Serafina whinning about stuff which he can't get, ie Serafina. But the thing was he could of gotten her very easierly but he just doesn't try. I ended up skipping pages & then not reading the book for months. I finallly forced myself to finsh it. Another thing was after reading Prince Charming first i was more interset in Rafe & his plot, also Lazar & Allerga. Then Darius & Serafina. Over alll this is my least favourite book of Gaelen Foley & after reading alll of her books to date, & sitting on the edge of my sit for any news on her new book One Night Of Sin. I haven't unlike the other books reread this one & I don't know if I plan to.

This book is a "Keeper" with plenty of passion and adventure - By: , 27 Jul 1999
Set in the island kingdom of Ascencion, this book has in-depth characterizations, intrigue, & action enough to satisfy anyone. It's one of those "All-nighters". I couldn't put it down -- passion & action abound in this 2nd book of a trilogy. Can't wait for the 3rd installlment! Gaelen Foley is a master of plot & characters, you feel you know these people & can't wait to find out what happens to them. It helps to read "The Pirate Prince" first, but isn't reallly necessary to understand "Princess". Her decriptions of people & places bring vivid pictures to mind. I read about 20 books a month, & this is one of my top favorites. I know I'll read this one again & again!
Don't miss this book! - By: , 25 Jul 1999
I loved this book! After reading Gaelen Foley's terrific first book, THE PIRATE PRINCE, I thought there wasn't any way for this author to outdo herself. I was wrong. PRINCESS is a lush, intriguing, sweeping romance with just the right balance of plot, character & narrative. Ms. Foley is quickly becoming one of my favorite historical romance authors. In fact, I think she's better than many of the old favorites who just keep writing the same story over & over, or whose style is synonymous with tired writing. I wish MORE publishers would publish new authors with fresh, exciting, rich voices such as Ms. Foley's.
Princess is a priceless romance! - By: , 21 Jul 1999
A historical, set on an island country during Napolean's era, the story centers around Princess Serafina. Her upcoming marriage to a brutuish Russian will secure her smalll country from Napolean's forces . Her sense of loyalty wars with her heart . . . a heart that has belonged to Darius Santiago, the king's man. Intrigue & politics are the backdrop for Darius & Serafina's love story. Gaelen Foley's second book was a fast-paced, wonderful story destined for my keeper's shelf. Now, I just have to hunt down her first book, the Pirate (Serafina's father's story) & wait for the third book in this series (Serafina's brother's story, Prince Charming, due out Spring of 2000).
