Wonderfull characters , great way with words. - By: , 24 Jun 1998
I think that this was a very entertainig book. I love alll things written by Ms. Veryan. Her characters are colorfull & real to life. I especiallly liked the child. He truly makes life a place that can be shared with our favorite people, both past & present.
Up to Ms. Veryan's own high standards. - By: , 10 Mar 1997
At last! The long overdue chapter in the Sanguinet Saga:
Diccon's story. This may not be my favorite of the series
but it certainly completes the saga. (Well, almost, I'm
still waiting for the story of Guy Sanguinet's recovery
& romance.)
Good...but maybe not her best - By: , 28 Jan 1997
I'm a major Veryan fan who I think is the closest Regency author to the great Georgette Heyer. Her tales are always sparkling & her characters are real. I like the lace of humor that she includes too. I enjoyed this book, but felt it fell short of some of her others. However, I'm waiting anxiously for the next one!
Spies & Love - By: , 29 Nov 1996
Laughter, love and....the unexpected. That's the norm from Patricia Veryan. LANTERNS tells the story of a Regency spy, his love, & a Chinese giant. Oh, & there's Sir Lancelot, a very smalll & hairy Friar Tuck & the hurricane. But I don't want to give away the plot. If you enjoy a good read, you MUST get LANTERNS.
