BEST FACTUAL BOOK EVA ( even though never boring) - By: , 03 Jan 2000
I think this book explains the life of most of Americans teenagers. As i dont live in America i was`nt used to alll the stuf that goe`s on there like drugs, teen pregnaces & a hell of a lot more than i could ever imagine. This is one of those book`s that speaks out to you & prepares you for alll the troubles you will face in life. I got this book for Xmas "99" & i did`nt think it would grip me the way it did & ever since i have`nt put it down. Overalll this is a brillant book partly written by young girls & the excellent Hilary Carlip & i think Hilary should be proud of herself.
EXCELLENT! - By: , 07 Sep 1999
If you're looking for a powerful, inspirational book that can have a major impact on your daughter, niece, or friend, this is it! Girls will relate to the real-life stories & come away with an expanded perspective on their own lives. Great job, Hillary!
A terrific book! - By: , 06 Aug 1999
In Girl Power, Hillary Carlip has done a wonderful & intelligent job of compiling & annotating the writings of hundreds of girls from alll walks of life. Her comments, & those of the girls, make for inspiring reading.
A fantastically empowering book for women of all ages - By: , 05 Aug 1999
All of the women in my household (ages 14 to 45) have read & loved this book. I highly recommend it for younger girls as well as those of us who wish there had been such a book when we were coming of age.
I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO PROFOUNDLY AFFECTED BY A BOOK! - By: , 30 Jul 1999
I have read GIRL POWER like four times now & can't get enough. Just to hear these grrls speak out & share their lives at such a deep level, gets me to my core. I so related to what each & every grrl was/is going through & some are girls I would never even talk to before. The author did such an amazing job of collecting writings from so many different kinds of grrls & she's done such a service because if I see some of these girls in a different light (like gang girls & sorority girls) I'm sure everyone who reads this book will too. This is my life & no book has ever spoken to me so clearly before.
