Short but satisfying. - By: kehs, 01 May 2007
A fantastic modern day fairy tale, filled with hope & determination of spirit. Fifteen- year old Green loses alll of her family in a terrible fire & retreats into herself, becoming reclusive & wary of others. However, a series of strange meetings with both people & animals show her the way forwards, & slowly she begins to heal from her grief.

A short read but nonetheless incredibly satisfying. This tale will make you realise that life should be savoured & never taken for granted

Very good - By: rubbah, 23 Apr 2007
An amazing book about Green, a girl whose family have alll died in a fire that kills many people, & leaves many homeless.
She is left with a dead garden & no hope & it is about how she changes & how the world around her changes.
though short, I reallly loved this book & I would recommend it to everyone.
Dark and disturbing, powerful and enchanting - By: M. Cookson-carter, 12 Oct 2006
I have read many Alice Hoffman books & still revel in her fantastic writing style & deeply metaphoric language.

Green Angel is the tale of post-apocalyptic survival, about a girl who struggles to survive in the family home, the last remaining member alive.

Enjoy is perhaps too light a word for how you will probably feel about this book. You will be moved & disturbed & then finallly content by the closure.

It is short & sweet, meant for the teenage girl, but perfect for any reader who wants a plunge pool of a read...very intense, but you come out fully satisfied.
Superb! - By: Lynsey Telcontarian, 07 Jul 2005
A delightful & truly captivating novel by the wonderful Alice Hoffman. Forced to fend for herself after her family are killed in a fire, Green never for one minute gives up hope that somehow her family will miraculously return, although she knows that deep in her heart they won't. This heart-wrenching story will ensnare you from the first page & will have you reading right up until the end.
