I have been studying for my Btec for the past 2 years & now I have progressed to the Hnc. Although this book contains alot of useful information, it is fairly limited & I have found many more books that cover a wider area such as Child Care & Education by Tina Bruce & Carolyn Meggitt.

This book is extremely informative, explaining every aspect of child development clearly & concisely. The chapters on theorists are excellent & very well written. Out of the tens of childcare books I have read, this is the one that has explained topics in the most effective way. It provides a solid foundation for understanding wider reading of the different subjects. Planning Play & the Early Years has been my best friend throughout my childcare course.
