Old London murder mayhem! - By: , 02 Mar 2006
If you like historical books, this certainly gives you a fantastic feel for old London. Jackson is so good at describing the surroundings that I started to feel I reallly was on the dark streets of London, walking through the stench & fog, with evil murderers around the corner doing the most foulsome things!

I imagine it to be on similar lines to a fictional story written about Jack the Ripper (though I haven't read one). Very creepy, & as Inspector Webb has very little or no scientific aid, as people do today, you wonder how they manage to find anything out.

It is alll written in the present tense, I found this a little hard to get my head around at first, however, as with most forms of writing, you get used to it!

Wonderful to read!
