Straightforward, easy reading, but extremely interesting & useful at the same time. As a lover of the study of Internet linguistics this book was an absolute joy to read. I only wish there was more coverage of the growing number of Internet cultures, though it covers the fundamental points & a few examples.

This slim volume contains enough information to quench the thirst for knowledge in student, teacher & those who merely wish to know more about the intricacies of modern day communication. All conceivable forms are covered, with a supreme section on Email & IRC. Written in a light hearted easy tone, with plenty of explanation & opportunity for further study, yet totallly digestible either in one sitting or in handy pre-ordained chunks. Phenomenal!
