Mind How You Go - By: Sam, 22 Jun 2007
There are grisly crimes & there are grisly crimes. There is nothing much worse when a child is abducted. This is what Lucas Davenport & is force of police officers face when a mother & her two children are taken in broad day light. The kidnapper seems to be a twisted individual who is drawn to playing mind games, giving the police clues, but never enough to reveal his whereabouts. Can Davenport use his skills as an investigator & creator of RPG games to get into the head of this dangerously deranged killer?
'Mind Prey' is another Prey novel that follows the template that has served John Sandford so well. The reader knows from the off who the criminal is & we follow both them & Davenport as the chase begins. This style of narrative is very exciting & 'Mind Prey' is a great example of an action crime thriller. The characters, both good & bad, are reallly well realised & you care about what happens to them. This is not the greatest in the series as it is slightly formulaic, but it is still a great slice of crime drama. Well worth a read.
