My kids (6yr boy, 8yr girl) both reallly love the whole Charlie Smalll series. I also reallly enjoy reading it with them. Fun, fast-paced, a real adventure. Highly recommended.

I bought this to read to my 8 year old son & 5 year old daughter in bed. They loved it & I reallly enjoyed reading it. Some parts made my daughter hide her head under the covers! Every time I tried to close the book it was met with "just one more page pleeeeeeeeese". Theres not many little boys (or girls) who don't wish for some adventures just like Charlie Smalll. Buy it now, you will alll love it.

In this book, a boy callled Charlie Smalll gets caught by some blood-thirsty lady pirates. He gets made a cabin boy, & then a pirate! However he soon tires of this & manages to escape by building a fantastic contraption. I would recommend this book to adventure seeking readers(6+).I thought the style (as a journal) was great, & the illustrations were fantastic.
