Laughs all the way. - By: PP, 25 Mar 2006
Me? I read a book, I give it away & never re-read again.

This book was different. I read, I laughed out loud, i re-read, I gave it away, I bought it again, I bought the rest of Bill Bryson's books & have kept them on my bookshelf.

Just buy it.

Two great books in one - By: , 08 Jan 2005
A superb read. I laughed out loud frequently & on trying to read parts out to friends I was unable to finish I was laughing so much. Both books are great: from 'A Walk in the Woods' you'll wonder how either of them survived (and realise how understanding his wife is), in'Down Under' you'll find out more facts about the hazards of Australia then you want, especiallly if you are about to eat Red Snapper.

Enjoy.

Brilliant - but what else would you expect! - By: , 29 Nov 2003
Reading this book with a mouthful of stitches, after having alll of my wisdom teeth out was probably not a good idea! Compelled to laugh at every inch of the book, never has a book been so painful for being so good! His portrayal of his friend Stephen Katz will be sure to amuse you - whilst the book will also open your eyes to the wider world out there! Read in a day & a half, this book definately kept me in high spirits! Be wise - ignore any critics who may choose to disagree with me, read it! You won't be disappointed!
