If you only read one book about "Star Wars" then it should be this. This book is a facinating chronicle of how the Star Wars saga came to be the blockbusting trilogy from a set of handwritten notes. The book's basis is around the screenplay with notes formed from interviews with George Lucas & several other major players in the films including Gary Kurtz, Lawerence Kasdan & Irvin Kershener. The notes shed light on how the story evloved as well as the carachters. They also supply several ancidotes on the shooting of the trilogy. The only downside of the book is that the notes can prove to be a bit of a light read in places. I seriously recommened this to other Star Wars fans & also anybody interested in the devlopment of films in general.
