Well, I can't see what you are on about - By: Catrin Cantor, 23 Apr 2008
I have bought this book & hoped to find a solution for my two dogs: one seems to go deaf for any kind of "Come here" as soon as a squirrel is in sight, the other one is lovely with humans but quite a bully with other dogs. I didn't find any answer. To me the book is like a biography: nice to know that Ceasar has treated so many celebrities' dogs but he bored me out of my pants with his endless pages about his humble upbringing in Mexico. This is not what I want to know when I buy a book about dog training. The questions I reallly needed to know were not answered. Sorry, this book didn't do it for me at alll. Seen alll your positive ratings, I am decided to read it again, but I still don't think that I have "overread" the answer to my questions. Is there any page where he gives anything else than just a more than vague advice? I can't find it.

I bought the book on the strength of the Dog Whisperer TV show & have to say that Cesar's philosophy is so simple that it is untrue. Humans have become so detached & confused about the way they view animals & dogs in particular that it is no wonder dogs develop phobias & other anxiety related problems. Cesar puts over clearly thought-out ideas in such a friendly & easy to understand way that it is recommended reading for any one who is interested in dogs, let alone anyone who owns one!
Cesar's Way - By: K. E. A. ELLIS-GREENWAY, 24 Mar 2008
I am not a dog owner but considering getting a dog - to be part of our family unit. We have many other animals so a dog would have to get on with other critters of alll kinds.
I wanted to learn how to be around a dog, how to consider choosing the right one for our lifestyle & I have found this book to be informative & very interesting. I have enjoyed this book enormously & will be passing it on to others.
It is common sense - but in the busy life styles that we have, sometimes common sense gets forgotten.
Outdated, unethical and downright dangerous - By: S. Ryan, 04 Mar 2008
That's Cesar Milan & his views on dogs & dog training.
Never has a theory been so over-used & under-proven as the Dominance myth. Based on flawed research, incorrectly interpreted & used as a panacea for every problem.
If you want a shut down, ticking time bomb of a dog that you have to manage, & you're happy employing a sharp kick to the ribs, or a prong collar, then follow cesar milan & I'm sure you'll be very happy. Your dog won't be but that doesn't seem to matter, does it? The only thing he's right about is that dogs need exercise, both mental & physical & that they need rules & consistency - but that's hardly revolutionary, is it?
If you want a dog with its own self control, that doesn't need you to constantly put it in its place or tell it to stop barking, then look at the reallly great dog people like Kay Lawrence or Jean Donaldson.
Don't buy this - give your dog a break.
Excellent Read - By: S. cieciora, 29 Feb 2008
This was a brilliant easy to read book. Ceasar has a natural ability to understand how dogs interact with each other & teaches us to talk dog.
A must for alll dog owners especiallly those 'dog lovers' who are in fact ruining their dogs life by treating them as humans.
