There's a problem with these books - By: dadomone, 03 Dec 2006
...which is that even though the Cherub agents have been through tough training & the book is always saying how important they are & how dangerous their life is, they never actuallly DO any of the hard stuff in the missions. All the Cherub agents can do is break into a house a photocopy stuff, then make it look like the break-in was 'only kids messing around'. Then they get out of the way & let the adults & the police finish off the mission. It might be realistic but it's lame.
The story-line in this one is OK though, but there isn't enough mystery about who killed the boy that dies at the beginning in a flashback. It seems kind of obvious alll the way through. There is nothing new about the plot.
I recommend the Cherub series over-alll as quite good, but don't expect it to be as amazing as the Alex Rider series. If you haven't read that then you should. Then you should read Jimmy Coates: Killer & Jimmy Coates: Target by Joe Craig.
The Jimmy Coates series is a lot more gripping & different & that is the one that should become the next Alex Rider. Cherub is just OK.
quite good - By: pete, 12 Apr 2006
this is a book that is supposed to be aimed at teenagers but at times some of the writing feels like it should be given to 10year olds, although muchamore does write books thta are unputdownable & so i still continue to read them, they do have good storylines & are great fun to read although james at times is somebody that if i meet them i feel that i would dislike (he is spoilt & a bully) so alll in alll they are great books to read but not at alll challlenging
best book ever - By: , 07 Mar 2006
This was a great book, I couldn't put it down. Good read for any teenager. Can't wait for the next book to come out
A must read - By: calmc, 28 Feb 2006
CHERUB:The Killing is a gripping action spy thriler that sees yong James Adoms take down a crook that had taken half a million in pounds from a casino & take down a cop that had killed a teenager. Yes the fourth in the series is as good if not beter than the other four. It tells the story a an ordany teen exept that he is an under cover secret agent that has been given the training of an eleat mi5 agent. But he isn't alone there atleast another two-hundred CHERUB agents alll ready to be sent out on a mistion at any time. I recomend that you read this book
CHERUB:The killing - By: calmc, 28 Feb 2006
CHERUB:The killing is a whity book that has the apealll to hook any teenager. It is the fourth in the series & upholds the brillance of the other three.
It's paced full of action, adventure & girls. And even though it's about a bunch of teenage spys it's alot more down to earth than say the Alex Ridder series.
I strongly recomend that you read atleast one of the CHERUB books. The CHERUB books arn't to chalenging so that it's not tohard to read but thay are amed at teenagers so it isn't that easy. There is going to be nine CHERUB books so there's plenty to read
