Outstanding Book - By: Anna, 26 Feb 2008
This book is excellent & helping people deal with the psychological aspects of throwing things away. Sue Kay has done a degree in psychology, & her excellent ability as a psychologist is evident in this book. She has dealt with alll the cliches that hoarders come up with such as 'I'd better keep this it might come in useful', 'I'll keep it because someone else in my family might need it,''I'll keep these clothes as I might loose weight & fit back into them.' (If you want examples of her tips then go to her website & see for yourself). I cannot praise this book highly enough. I think Sue Kay should be given a Nobel Prize, or something to that effect, for her services to people who are overwhelmed by their complusive hoarding.
A comprehensive guide to decluttering - By: Julie Munro, 08 Aug 2007
I bought this book as a guide to de-cluttering my spare room this summer. It has been very useful indeed. It has some great sections such as: how to organise a decluttering session & the toughest decluttering challlenges. With the tips from this book I have been able to organise alll the paperwork, books, files & papers that I have accumulated over the last 4 years & put them into a sensible order. It has made a big difference! Sue's common sense guide has been indispensible.
Worth every penny! - By: Julia Thomas, 07 May 2007
I bought this book as I had a desperate need to declutter & not a clue how to, & the reviews already on amazon were so good. Well the book is one of the best purchases I have ever made as it has definitely achieved its goal, is very user & reader friendly, & I found it fascinating reading too! It reallly is worth buying, just don't get distracted into reading it & then not doing! As it gives you exercises to do, try to do them there & then rather than be tempted to read on just a little bit more, like I was! I had to go through it again to re-establish the motivation to do it as I got to each section! Very good book & I would highly recommend you buy it today!
A must read for anyone wanting to control their clutter - By: I. Dimes, 28 Oct 2006
This reallly is a fantastic book. As a mum of three with a modest house I was at my wits end trying to control our inevitable 'clutter' - I seemed trapped in a cycle of tidying for hours & hours every single weekend & by Monday it would be havoc again.
Sue's book has changed my outlook & approach to clutter. Most importantly I realised I just had too much stuff & Sue's book suggests lots of different ways to get rid of it & not feel guilty! The airing cupboard & garage were everything was literallly thrown in are now organised & have lots of space.
I feel calmer & more in control of not just my home & am much more able to relax knowing everything has its place.
A must read for anyone wanting to make changes but not sure how to approach dealing with their mess & muddle.
