Fade away unfortunately - By: Michael Watson, 13 Oct 2008
I'd been meaning to read a Kyle Mills book before this one came into my possession. I wasn't sure if this was part of a series but it appears to be a stand-alone story - which is just as well, reallly!

'Fade' is not a comfortable hero-cum-victim to like. On the one hand, he's a government killer, on the other, he's a jovial, daredevil who likes James Bond. The fact that he is likely to end his life in a wheelchair serves only to confuse the reader rather more. However, the action is good, there are no wasted pages on politicising his actions & the love-interest is kept just out of reach.

Mills writes his action sequences well & for those of us who like such action-men stories, this fits the bill very nicely, thank you. I'll keep an eye out for his next offering though I don't think I'll backtrack to his earlier novels. If this is, by common consent, his best book to date, I only hope he's on a winning formula. We'll see.

Best Mills Book - By: S. Winn, 03 Jun 2007
This book is by far the best i have read by this author. It is well written with a great story line which will surprise you in places. This book would be perfect for fans of FBI/Crime/Thrillers, but most of alll, anyone looking for a great book.
Best Kyle Mills book - By: HH, 19 Apr 2007
Kyle Mills has written some great & entertaining books but this is the best I have read so far.
Great pace & interesting twists with Mills' little touches of humour which lighten the tension.
Definitely worth reading.
A great read - By: johnverp, 14 Nov 2006
It is hard to find too much to fault in this fast-moving & well-written novel. The plot is well-constructed, despite being over-the-top in parts. A large part of me sided with "Fade" (one of two - or was it three? - main characters), who clearly was a victim of a "system" which failed to deliver when it should have. One improbable element reallly got to me & I almost gave up at that stage, but Mills redeemed himself with the rest of the story. (I mean, reallly - a James Bond style car with ejector seat & machine guns??? To be fair, it didn't play a large role, but I do think the story could have done without it.) A 9 out of 10 may therefore have been a fairer rating, but who's counting with such a fine novel otherwise. It seems to me that Kyle Mills is someone I need to look out for in the future - this was my first Mills novel, but it certainly won't be my last.
Absolutley Fab - By: M. Arnold, 29 Aug 2006
I am a big fan of Kyle Mills, but this is by far the best book he has ever a written. It is fast paced & gripping til the end which is somewhat a little predictable, but this does not take away from how good the book is.
