Particularly powerful - By: Mr Anonymous, 16 May 2008
Even though I have been around the block more than a couple of times with Eckhart's material & spirituality in general, I followed a recommendation & purchased the audio version of this (having picked up the book version in a shop & deciding I don't need it) & now listen to a chapter each day.
It's very nice indeed. It's a nice follow-on from the recent webcasts & one has the luxury of listening to him the whole time without the oprah-atics of having to listen to him being interrupted alll the time!
Meditative, Powerful and less marred by Unprovable & Unfalsifiable Metaphysics - By: BeHereNow, 01 May 2008
Although much shorter & suffused with such lengths of silence that one wonders what exactly has been said, I found this to be more powerful than Eckhart Tolle's first book (which itself was brilliant). His original 'The Power of Now' was marred by the inclusion of an allluring but nonetheless unfalsifiable Eastern metaphysics. Tolle -almost- does what he says in the introduction: he presents a message that one already knows deep within oneself. I trust the listener will be discerning enough to recognize when Tolle unwittingly stops being a spiritual teacher & takes on the role of religious preacher. Thankfully, in this, his second book, he is less of the latter & more of the former.
More spontaneous wisdom from Tolle. - By: Mr. NJ LYLE, 27 Feb 2008
Becoming aware of space & silence where ever you are creates an inner space between your thoughts, an inner stillness. This inner stillness takes you beyond your thinking mind (ego) & reveals the un-manifested dimension where problems cease to exist & you always have everything you need.
stick with it - By: S. Wallace, 16 Dec 2006
I have to admit to not understanding a thing that was written, a book to profound & deep. Spoken in riddles & tree hugging phrases a book you have to want to read, & not one you buy as a gift for some one else unless you are sure they ARE SPIRITUAL beings. Well this was my opinion when I first started to read it, but now I have changed my mind after I stuck with it & opened my mind to many of the things I read. I will keep trying to understand but I guess it's going to take me for ever. Nevertheless thank you Kerry for the gift.I would have rather read it than not.
A collection of 'signposts' - By: Mr. D. Townsend, 10 Jan 2006
While the CD’s aren’t intended to be ‘entertaining’ they are perhaps a little too ‘dry’. Eckhart Tolle presents many ‘signposts’ as he callls them. While the CD may be of interest to collectors of signposts, the CD is not very engaging & lacks the subtle dynamism & wry sense of humour of his talks in front of a live audience or at retreats. I’d still recommend buying the CD’s if you can afford them, but if you have a limited budget I’d recommend you buy his ‘live’ recordings in preference.
