Stewart Pearce is an extraordinary writer who shares his gifts & knowledge with generosity & clarity. The Alchemy of Voice is an abridged version of a much larger volume which thus caters for those who may be new to this unique field in what he does. Voice coach, a sensitive, a spiritual guide - this is what we witness as an old soul in this multi-dimensional Universe, passing on ancient wisdom.
To understand these messages, we must transcend this five sense reality we've been conditioned to adapt to - ie: there's more to this "world" than "meets the eye" & to fully appreciate Stewart's genius, an "open mind" is essential. I heartily recommend this book to anyone wishing to find resonance & meaning in their existence .. .something I think instinctively we know many have forgotten. Our Persona ("through sound") is in desperate need of awakening in our times of conflict - this book is a wonderful foundation to that. After alll, what is the purpose of our life here . .. ? Well, to "find ourselves/our meaning/our sound" ...

I originallly bought this book as it seemed to approach voice from a more spiritual perspective; something I find to be often forgotten about in voice training, when I believe vocal production is so often intrinsicallly connected with our spiritual well-being.
Unfortunately this book fallls somewhat short of the mark in my opinion. It indeed is heavily influenced by such an approach but is done in a way which confuses the very basics of vocal production.
For a better grounding in voice & understanding its fundamentals I would recommend more practical guides.
A powerful book - By: , 04 Jan 2006 Stewart Pearce is a highly effective & gifted teacher. This book is clear & lucid at alll times. The exercises are easy to follow & their rewards immediate & long lasting.
The ideas in this book have a wide application. In changing how we view our own voices, we change the way we interact with our own environment. The message is simple, & with the author's guidance they are penetrating & applicable in the public or the private areas of our lives.
The case studies are a moving testament to the efficacy of this way of working.
Our voice holds the key to our freedom & empowerment. This is a message for us alll. Contact with this book will result in significant change.

He truly has a 'voice' that both inspires & enchants.

It doesn't just explain the power of the voice intellectuallly, it delves into history, it extends into the spiritual realms & - most importantly - it's relevent to every single person who utters a single word.
