I am about half way thru & it covers the period from the hunger strikes to the Good Friday Agreement. Based on the well-received TV series (but the book format alllows for more in-depth analysis), it follows the progress of the dialogue between the Republican Sinn Fien & the SDLP & the British Government to acheive a kind of lasting peace & ability to live together.

The history of Ireland makes this aim difficult, witness the latest news on David Trimble's reelection as First minister, but this book fills you with hope for the future.
