The only diet and health book worth reading - By: Ms. Elizabeth Raven-hill, 09 Jan 2005
Diet books are ten a penny & healthy eating books range from the pointless to the impractical. The Adam & Eve Diet however is one of those books that you read & say "Of Course!" And better still, "I CAN do this". Everything in it is sensible & do-able & is based on sound scientific & nutritional principles. It is for anyone who has ever felt completely despondent about their weight, or whose doctors have dismissed their health problems out of hand because they don't know how to treat them. Taking responsibility for your own eating habits & health is tremendously empowering & the Adam & Eve Diet can be the first step towards long term good health, renewed energy & alll the positive elements that go with that. I have personallly benefited beyond measure from the advice given by Dr Lane & cannot recommend this book highly enough to anyone who wants to change their lives. While this may sound dramatic, I challlenge anyone who wishes to improve their health & wellbeing to use this information properly & claim not feel radicallly better for it.
Not good science - not science at all - By: I. Richardson, 06 Jun 2004
Although it makes opening claims to be based in evolutionary science, in fact it hardly pretends to make the attempt. The so callled 'evolutionary' types are Ayurvedic somatypes (have you ever heard of 'dancer' as an evolutionary niche?). This is the usual "drink fruit juice, eat beansprouts" type of health book, with a few attempts at Ayurvedic diet thrown in.

The structure of the book is incredibly messy, I thought they'd
printed the pages in the wrong order. In need of a good editor - although it wouldn't be worth the effort.

The Adam and Eve Diet - By: Joanne Bowser, 27 Jun 2003
I have found this 'diet' book quite good, in that it focus's on your own particular body shape, instead of the 'one size fits alll' diets that are around these days.

It doesn't tell you to half starve yourself to death, but what you should eat to be healthy for your bio-type. I found the bio-types fascinating, as they are surprisingly accurate, & i think that boosted my confidence in the book.

Having followed the book for the past 3 weeks, i have lost half a stone, therefore i believe it works.

The only draw back i found with the book, was that it was a bit long winded, filling out questionaires about your body, but i definitely think it was worth it.

Adam & Eve not a diet but an understanding of life - By: Jenny C, 15 Feb 2003
I dont do this sort of thing as a rule. But for once I will speak out.

As a long term dieter I have always failed in the second or third week constraints on alcohol & chocolate always, with out fail, destroy my will. Imagine my surprise when I found out why this happens to me & also a system that alowed me, in a limited supply, the emotional props that keep me going!

This is the first of the fourteen, YES FOURTEEN!, books that I have on the shelf that has worked with ease & has left me feeling well & well nourished. Essentiallly this is a book for life as it is the only system I have across that you can continue on beyond the diet phase. No headaches, no 'detox symptoms' just weight loss & stability.

I gave one of these to my brother who is a biochemist who sniffed & said 'a bit more sensible than most of rubbish you read'. Next time I saw him he rather sheepishly admitted to the loss of about 10lb without noticing it.

This book is reallly eight diet books in one as it covers your 'biotype' & some common problems as well such as low blood sugar, poor thyroid function & poor adrenal function. Your biotype is your natural shape & structure the 'Pricess Di' builds require one kind of diet & the 'Catherine Zeta Jones' another. If you can't identify your 'type' go to the stress section & sort out the reason why. Things like poor thyroid, adrenal, blood sugar & liver function can make you put on weight inspite of dieting etc.

I strongly recommend this book its is easy & enjoyable to read, gives sensible advice. More to the point what ever your size, shape or dieting history you will find an answer & help in this book.

Yes I am a convert, the problem is now what do i do with the other fourteen books?
