Medical Student - By: Mr. T. Kilner, 14 Apr 2006
This book is a great introduction to surgery for medical students, with a focus on examination & diagnosis. This book is lucidly written & gives detailed explanations (and pictures) of the signs & symptoms of each (general) surgical disease. There are no lists of investigations etc, but that's not what this book is about! This is a book about logical history taking & examination technique which are fundamental to good surgical practice. It's fine knowing the indications for a vagotomy but if you cannot obtain a good history & examine the patient properly then you are never going to get that far! I cannot recommend this book enough.
