Useful book when studying for TEFL exams - By: , 14 Nov 2004
I found this a very useful book when studying for my TEFL exams. Good ideas & lesson plans. Covers everything well for a paperback book. Well worth having along side you other books.
Great guide but dreadful reference - By: , 26 Mar 2002
I would strongly recommend reading this book to anyone about to do a CELTA or other TEFL course - it's a great step-by-step guide to the world of EFL teaching, & especiallly what a course holds.
BUT sadly it's usefulness almost ends there as it is just a good prep guide, its index has less words in it than this review & it is nigh-on useless as a reference guide, if you want a comprehensive guide to refer back to get Jeremy Harmer's bible (Practice of English Language Teaching). If you're not sure what TEFL is or are thinking of doing a course - get this as it will get you focussed & thinking.
