Brilliant - By: , 19 Nov 2002
One starting to read these books I couldn't put them down. I found each book more exciting & intreaging than the last. I read these books after reading his Deptford Mice Trillogy a little unsure about whether he could write anything as good as them. Everything I have read by him has been an excellent read & I truly recomend these books to both adults & children!!
Happy reading
A moving and exciting tale up to the very last page! - By: , 21 Apr 2001
As the third part of the Whitby series, I would say it is more action packed & twisted than even the previous two books! All your favourite characters from the series are in it & towards the end you begin to think that the aufwader tribe are doomed to extinction because of the shameful curse put on them so many years ago. I won't tell what happens but you reallly should read to find out. It is a very tearful ending & definitely not a let down, although in the very end something a tad unreal occurs, which I personallly found stupid. You won't be able to put this winner of a book down, so go on & read it NOW!
Amazing ending to an amazing series - By: , 09 Feb 2001
After the brilliantly-shocking "A Warlock in Whitby", I wasn't sure if Robin Jarvis could possibly create another hit & cap off the series well. Boy was I in for a shock. "The Whitby Child" is not only longer & more intense than both of its predecessors, it is better than both combined! With new terrifying monsters keeping the story alive, & the arrival of Crozier's Coven at last, this final installlment is an excellent excercise in the macabre. With more twists than before, & some nice scenes (as well as a heart-breaking, well-written ending that manages to steer clear of cheese territory), this is a brilliant last book. May Robin Jarvis continue to write forever!
Another gem from Robin Jarvis - By: , 30 Jul 2000
I read this book a few years ago, & wanted to review it now. It is the final in the 'Whitby Witches' trilogy! It is every bit as magnificant as the "Whitby Witches", & "A Warlock in Whitby". The humour, imagery, & storylines are on top form as ever. I am amazed how Robin can maintain this quality each time. Usuallly sequallls end up being poor clones of the original! Not do here, or with any of his 'series'! I visited Whitby last year, & visited the ruined Abby on the cliff, a spooky experience I can tell you! Many of the landmarks he mentions do exist in real life! I think this adds to the realsim.

I urge you to buy this book, it successfully ties up loose ends left behind in the earlier two books, without being cheesy or predictable!
