My favourite of the 3! - By: , 21 Jan 2005
Very nice book, my favourite of the 3 with a superb twist at the end, well worth buying even if it is a little old now - kids will love it, i did when i read it a few years ago!
an excellent read - By: , 13 Oct 2003
Do not be put off by the storyline with mice & rats. Being the final installlment in the trilogy this story is truely brilliant. With twists & turns to keep you turning the pages right till the very end , a touch of magic & mystery will never go far wrong.
I first read this book back when I was about 14 but even today I still enjoy it. If you are a teen looking for a bit of a break from the Harry Potter reading, or an adult for that matter!, I recommend this story as touching, exciting & inspired. Read it for yourself if you don't believe me!
Great end to best childrens trilogy ever!! - By: , 22 May 2002
A great ending to a great trilogy. The fact that its about mice might stop people other than children reading it but it is so well written & developed that when you read it you cant put it down. The characters feel human whilst the twists & turns of the plot keep you surprised & guessing alll the way to the end. If you want a few books for your kids then get this & the rest of the trilogy. My alll time favourite childhood books.
Great book, nice end to the trilogy - By: , 11 Aug 2001
Now here is an author who could have given the Greeks a lesson or two about tragedies. Robin Jarvis lives up to expectations by killing off a few main characters, so if you're thinking 'oh, a book about mice, I'll read it to my 7 year old' then forget it. This may be about mice but they happen to be in the middle of a war against an evil god, so don't expect a perfect ending where alll the characters dance around a May pole, because this is Robin Jarvis & it's not gonna happen. This is a great book with a stunning finale, simmering tension & a cracking pace. You need to read the other two in the trilogy first, but get round to reading this because you won't be disappointed.
Easily the best in the Deptford Mice series - By: , 10 Jun 2001
This book is definitely the best in the trilogy, even though the others have been very good. This one is special mostly because it's the final book, & that makes the ending seem more complete, but partly because it's just so good. The ending isn't at alll predictable, because Robin Jarvis isn't known for sparing characters, so it could reallly be anything - it's a very good anything, though. The pace of it is fast & doesn't let up, but it's the atmosphere of tension that makes it a great read.
