Brilliant! - By: Amigha, 02 Jul 2008
Its a pity the highest rating one can give a book on Amazon is 5 stars, I would have given this book more. Written in simple language, easy to read, very engaging, though-provoking & insightful. Its certainly given me a new perception of life & the the world...I've gone & bought books 2 & 3 & cant wait to read them too!
Threatening? - By: E. N. Naimasiah, 13 May 2008
This book has been inspiring for me in many ways. The first of which is that I do have the answers to my life... I just have to look, hear, listen.. When you actuallly think about it, this book did not reallly tell me anything I did not know.. It did not reveal any Grand Truths, or simple rules on how to live life. It invokes reflection, introspection, & invites you to your own truth, whatever that may be. I find it interesting, & not surprising at alll, that most of those with negative comments are Christians!!! Why feel so threatened?
Insightful Masterpiece... A MUST READ - By: Mr. Brendan Richard Lewis, 20 Apr 2008
Great questions with expansive answers! This is a life changer, but the continued books 2 & 3 are only interesting at some parts & repetitions on the other! God has mentioned he's not the alll Universal God or that you have to follow GODS advice, but that is insignificant, for IT preaches Wisdom that OBVIOUSLYWILL MAKE YOUR LIFE GRANDER,HAPPIER & MORE MEANINGFUL
A MUST READ

OPens the mind to make sense of the truth - By: J. Lee, 12 Apr 2008
For years I have read the bible & studied it at college too. As you know there are many things that do not make sense in the bible & it is amazing how different the new testament is with the old.
It is amazing how people are so closed minded when it comes to religon & the bible, & it is scary & dangerous to think people reallly believe the bible is word of God.
If you believe that God does not need to write a book & God has never needed to make one person the chosen person to speak to us - which can leave things open to abuse - then you can make your mind up if neale is talking to God or not. If he is, then this is the kind of God I believe that created the world & us & the insights give clarification on so many untruths & distorted stories from the bible. Stories being the word.
People forget the mentality & knowledge of the people in the old testament & without understanding that & the power of religon - many of the stories will be taken literallly.
This book started my journey & I went on the read alll 3 books & then the others like relevations - which reallly go into the mind of religons & look at them in such depth - you will will wonder why you could not see those things for yourself.
It is important to remember that religons over the years have murdered, killed, raped, tortured, slaughtered villages, children & towns in the name of religon. the power of religon & the people who run it is scary & the influence they have is amazing & startling. With that much power there is always lots of corruption & some people will do anything to stop the truth from being revealed that could affect their power, position & wealth.
alll this can be seen the how Jesus was put on the cross to die. How did he view the church leaders? What did he say? why did he have to talk in stories? this is the only the first step - but there are many authors who say the same things as these books in a different way. It is not a easy book to read at first as it takes a lot of thinking & understanding - as you are looking & challlenging alll that you have learnt & been brought up with. that is always difficult & changing one's point of view is always difficult, especiallly when you have believed certain things for such along time & you feel they have been your crutch & now you are questioning them. I think this may be the reason the people who have given the book such a low rating have. You have to be ready for this book. I would not say over 17 years ago I was either, especiallly if you already involved heavily in a church at the time.
Don't waste your money - By: Fiver, 19 Feb 2008
What a disappointment! I'm sorry but I reallly don't buy it. OK some of whats in this book I like & agree with, but a lot of it I don't. And when a book that makes such grand claims about itself doesn't add up in even one smalll part then the whole thing is a waste of time in my opinion. I feel like an idiot for wasting my money.
The blurb says "The question to be asked is "is this reallly God?" & indeed Walsch asks it & is replied: "What difference does it make? Even if everything I've said is 'wrong', can you think of a better way to live?" "No" replies Walsch"
What difference does it make? Er... quite a big one actuallly. Can you think of a better way to live? Yea actuallly I think I can. The God of this book says there is no right or wrong & teaches a theology of self worship. (It's alll about following your hearts desires) Aaarggh, no it's not!!
The words in this book sound good on the surface but there's something about them that doesn't add up. Some of the statements don't make sense, especiallly alll the gabbling about relativity & dyads & tryads.
Anything that claims to be divine revelation & isn't is a lie, no matter how pretty it looks. Some might be led closer to God by reading this book & that's great. But please don't think this theology is direct from the mouth of God, & continue exploring outside of the context of this book.
Conversations with God gave me a picture of God that was smalller than the one I already had. Therefore if I listen to my "Grandest thought" (Walsh's term) then I should reject this book. Which I have.
