Just like Johnny Thunders - By: TraceyH, 13 Aug 2007
I think I'm too old for this novel, or way too cynical. I admit it was the reference to Johnny Thunders which attracted me to it. It is well written & easy to read, but I wished that someone would give the heroine a good shake & shout 'pull yourself together'. I also felt that the description of the lifestyle of a hard-core drug user/dealer was too sanitised. A romantic novel for the young or the 'young at heart'.
great book - By: Judit, 21 Oct 2003
Actuallly, the greatest book I've read this year so far. Found it in a smalll antique shop in Budapest & it brought me great surprises.
Everyone can relate to Nancy, who's been in love or who chose the wrong person, who got disappointed, who has great friends around who are always ready to cheer you up, etc..
Many times I found myself rereading some of the sentences as they were my thoughts, but I could never express them so well.
My favourite book of all times - By: , 22 Jul 2003
I absolutely love this book. I have read it so many times I have lost count. When I first read this book I had only been to London a few times but it managed to make me feel nostalgic for a city I didn't even know.
If you do not identify with Nancy, I am afraid you may have it alll to come - brace yourself!!
AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING - By: ebbabe99@hotmail.com, 31 Oct 2001
I LOVED this book so much i read it twice...I guess it was because I found myself identifying with her so much..fallling in love with someone who I knew wasnt for me & couldnt give me what i need, & was still looking for himself so how could he have found me? It was amazing. She writes beautifully & so many times, I found myself rereading the sentences over & over again because they clicked so well. An AMAZING AMAZING read.
A book that most 20-somethings can relate to! - By: , 30 Jul 2000
This book was believable, witty & the type of book that you will find hard to put down. I empathised with the main character in her obsession for an unsuitable man & her inability to prevent herself from getting hurt. The only thing that didn't quite ring true was the frequent desicription of the atmosphere in london at the weekend. just because it's friday, not everybody shops for condoms instead of groceries! on the whole, a good read. i'll definately be looking for more boks by this author
