"The witch had a cat and a very tall hat, and long ginger hair which she wore in a plait." - By: Shaffelnook, 23 Apr 2008
Its hard for me to review this book because I SO wanted to give it a 5 star rating. It has fun clear pictures & the rhyming story is easy to read & fun to tell. I reallly think it deserves top marks!
But my 3 year old son HATED it. He was scared of the dragon & scared of the witch! After our first reading he said to me "Mummy, I don't like that book"!
However, I do think there are a lot of children out there who WILL like it. In fact, I have purchased a copy for a friend's daughter who I know for a fact loves stories about witches.
Therefore I am giving this book 4 stars, because I like it, some children will like it, its just that my own son didn't.

Take a deep breath.. - By: Julian Browne, 16 Feb 2008
.. my son is just three & loves this book to bits. The artwork is great but the fast paced rhyming narrative reallly makes this something special. I have to read this faster & faster each time & it's great fun (if a little exhausting). Like alll good kids books the story is simple but with lots to look at & talk about, & I must confess that I like to do the voices. You'll be booming "witches & chips" before you know it.
And whooosh.. they were gone.
simply fantastic - By: Victoria Lavington, 07 Feb 2008
The whole family loves to read this book. The story, the pictures, the repetative whoosh they were gone & the happy ending makes it a great fun to both read & listen to. I can see it getting better & better as we explain about the different landscape pictures & the spell & the new broom as my daughter gets older.
