Enjoyable and meaningful - By: Hobs, 21 Apr 2008
This is a lovely book which my 2 year old daughter reallly enjoys especiallly filling in the 'thats a ....' on each page. The simple repetative text & colourful pictures also makes the book suitable for my 11 month old. I also think this story has a lovely idea that although people may not look like their parents they are still a family. A lovely lesson in diversity.
This is such a good book - By: G. Knott, 12 Dec 2007
I first heard this story when my friend read it to her Son over & over again whilst we were on holiday together. I actuallly enjoyed listening to the story(LOL) & I never got bored of hearing it. The book is great & it rhymes reallly well. I have now bought this book for my son & I am sure he will love it. EDITED - I have now started reading this book to my Son & he does love it!
Brilliant for younger children - By: Gabriella Covacci, 07 Dec 2007
My two boys aged 2 1/2 absolutely adore this book. They are slowly learning it by heart! The rimes are perfect & the book is not too long so that young children don't loose interest. This books goes over the names of different animals & parts of their bodies - fantastic!
Monkey Puzzle or just BAD DREAMS! - By: sidney, 10 Nov 2007
I can only agree with the previous reviews - except - my son don't!!!! He loves alll the other stories by the same author & illustrator but this one - i think it is something to do with the first line ' i have lost my mummy'. Since reading this story the first time & not linking the bad dreams to the book but to a house move i read it again recently to him & what a month of sleep deprevation we have alll had! if your child is at alll sensitive or thinks beyond the obvious read with care. As for me - i love it! alll the best.
Agree with everyone else - By: S. L. Bradley, 18 Aug 2007
This book is great. My little one is nearly 15 months & already loves the book so much he fills in the names of some of the animals as we read it ("No no no, that's a .. "). Plenty of opportunities for animal noises & actions making it great fun to read.

We also love the Gruffalo (a bedtime classic), & A Squash & A Squeeze - by the same authors. The formula in alll thier books of rhyming + repetition is spot on, & I can see why toddlers are captivated by their books.
