i just feel the need to reply to the reviewer talking about how its worse than "scorseses film". The godfather trilogy is directed by Francis Ford Copolla & scorsese was not involved in them in any way. so stop trying to come across like you know it alll, when infact you know nothing as you got a key fact wrong - the director.
Movies are easy - By: Mr Woods, 22 May 2005
I loved the Godfather Trilogy, well the first two. What I found in the book was the privilege to follow the characters the inner thoughts. That is the power that alll books have over film. Those who want a mafia fairytale, devoid of the fear & grit, watch the films, those who wish to explore the tragedy of corruption read on.
Pulp Fiction at its trashiest - By: Bertrand Borg, 30 Aug 2004
Anyone approaching this book with the intent of reliving Scorcese's filmic masterpiece - turn away now.

Mario Puzo's book is simply dire - crass sexual descriptions are inserted for no obvious reason other than self-tittilation, & the language used is anorexic at best. It could have been written by a schoolboy - the only reason one should read this is to admire Scorcese for being able to transform it into one of cinema's greatest epics.

Avoid like a drunken Sonny Corleone.
