morphing matrix - By: T. crosby, 26 Aug 2006
von daniken is very compelling
there surely have been interventions from outer space ove the history of humankind ..... but as the extra terrestrials in ken careys starseed transmissions say ..... alll fearsome space cultures destroy themselves only to be born again in the mud of another world ....
.......... also as terence mckenna says much alien interaction is our own deeper self emerging as warnings from our own unconscouss to tell us that we must re connect to " the other " ..... as our present state of fracture & disconnection is expressing itself in our current problems of global war , instability & environmental destruction ....
............. robert anton wilson is great in cosmic trigger on the agnostic " maybe " statement .... as in it could be space aliens , uncoscouss archetypes in our temporal reality / dreamscape / plugged into a morphing matrix ... or alll three in paralllel ...
An interesting read - By: , 10 Feb 2005
As said in the title, it's an interesting read. I managed to read this in about a week (on the way to & from work), & I must admit, I was engrossed in it until the very end. Yes, his theories are far fetched, which, for me, in the end, were his downfalll, but still, it put a different spin on things that you assumed were fact because of past, & so-callled 'proven' theories.
The only gripe I have, he dismisses people who say his theories are far fetched, but in relation to the space-craft he says that crashed on earth, he says one theory is too far fetched, therefore dismisses it, tad hypocritical. (For alll you interested, the theory that Daniken dismissed was that when a fireballl hurtled across the sky of the Siberian Taiga, one man said that this could have been a direct result from the Krakatoa volcano eruption. This is due to the fact that this eruption sent out a large concentration of radio waves into space & the 'aliens' mistakenly took the radio waves for a signal from space, so directed a laser beam, which was far too strong, at the earth & when the beam his the earth's atmosphere high above Siberia, it had turned into matter, crashing into the surface of the earth).
Anyway, happy reading. If you're interested in learning a little bit on theories & seeing things in a different way, opening up new possibilities, get this book.

Yes, Erich, Yes He Was!!!! - By: LIAM G HERRINGSHAW, 29 Mar 2004
Being a multiple-time alien abductee & Von Daniken fan, I feel I have to say a few words about this book, because Erich has simply hit the nail on the head - AGAIN! His thesis is superbly set out & argued, & simply reaffirms the views I have held since I was first abducted as a young teenager (my friends like to calll me 'Alien-Magnet' after alll the times I have been Taken). But, I digress, put simply: buy this book, Erich will take you closer to the truth than you could ever know!
As a postscript, I suggest further reading & activities for those interested: firstly, take a trip to Erich's Mystery World theme park in Switzerland, it is just SO fine. And secondly, I have explored similar themes to this book in a thesis I wrote at Birmingham University, UK, which I have simply callled 'Problematica'. Any local fans of Von Daniken will be able to read this a the university library, although I am afraid it is NOT for sale.
Maybe not God, but we must consider man's alternative origin - By: , 10 Apr 2003
Exploring archaeology & the existence of man, born from a race of beings long ago.
Well to me that sums up this book, which right or wrong does take an alternative look at our past, questioning how certain "relics" could exist, be built without aid of machinery or tools that we possess today or have yet to be invented.
Though an "old" book dating from the 60's & one of many different theory novels by author Erich Von Daniken, its
hard to put down once you start reading it thoroughly.
I thoroughly recommend this book as an alternative insight to religious fables of man's creation compared to what modern day science has taught us.
Since its original publishing, many aspects of the book have been proved wrong, but that still doesn't stop what is still a thought provoking read, intellectual, scientific but still enjoyable.
