Excellent Book. Want to succeed at interview? Then buy this book. - By: Wolfgang, 16 May 2008
I think the criticisms of this book in the negative reviews given here are totallly unfounded & ill concieved. This book is excellent. (Criticisms levied at the unrealism of the title are clearly levelled by the same people who went into fits when Katie Melua suggested there were 9 million bicycles in Beijing.) This is a good book that helps those who need help in this area. Personallly I'd recommend this book along with "Brilliant CV", "201 Best Questions to ask on your interview", & also "How to Handle Your Recruitment Consultant" which covers the key area that these other books don't. With those four books in your bag you will not fail.
It's 4 for 4 on success rate - By: Firecracker, 22 Mar 2008
I bought this, & its partner, "Brilliant Answers To Interview Questions", when I was leaving University. I only had time to skim both books & dip in & out, before an interview I had. I've passed every interview I've had, since having these books (even when I've not looked at the books in ages, I've remembered what I read before).
I lent them to a friend, he got the job he went for. He liked them so much he bought his own copies, & lent them to a mutual friend of ours. She got the jobs she went for too. I lent my copy to my brother, who like me, dipped in & out - he got his job (the first one he'd ever interviewed for, & straight out of Uni).
So pretty good success rate!
A tough title to live up to - By: N. Paterson, 25 Jan 2008
Almost anyone who writes a book on interviewing deserves praise for helping to make sense of this variable form of human interaction. This book is defintitely helpful in a number of ways. That said, the title is almost impossible to live up to. I found that, while largely encouraging the reader to tell the truth, there are moments when it seems as though the author is suggesting that we should say only what is going to help us get that job (e.g. see p.90 second paragraph & page 89 inset paragraph).
Brilliant Title For A Brilliant Book! - By: K. Wigley, 02 Feb 2007
After 5 years of 'Thanks, but no thanks' letters, I became very depressed - & thought I was unemployable. Interview after interview, I failed.
After reading this book & preparing properly for an interview - [my first interview after reading this fine work!] - I have finallly secured a new job! I am so thrilled - & I would like to thank Ros Jay, the author, personallly for the invaluable help this book has provided.
I can't rate this book highly enough! Buy it from Amazon now! If I could get a new job [and a fairly decent one], after 5 years of no-hope & relatively few qualifications - you can too!
Good luck to you! Mind, you won't need it after buying this book!
BRILLIANT! - By: S. Vintin, 13 Oct 2006
I bought this book in conjunction with Brilliant CV & was thoroughly impressed.
I was trying to obtain a specific job at a specific company, sent in my CV, got an interview from that CV, & was offered the job 2 days after my interview! Feedback from the interviewers indicates my interview was very strong indeed. If you follow this book to the letter, you should not go much wrong.
I am now £5k better off per annum & have much better career prospects. Thanks.
