Best book i have ever read - By: Mr. Jason F. Parke, 22 Feb 2008
This is a very in depth book about the woman who helped to kill five children in the Manchester area. It starts from her childhood alll the way through to how she met Ian Brady & how they killed them. Then goes on to the trial & her time in prison. This is the BEST BOOK I HAVE EVER READ(And i have read it about 10-15 times its that good.) Buy this book or else you will regret it forever.
A Good Read! - By: Jake M, 13 Dec 2007
To be fair, this book was written in the late 80s shortly after the body of the moors murderer's first victim Pauline Reade was found. Back then, little was known about the case, one did not know the details of how the children were murdered & what the reasons were as to why Ian Brady & Myra Hindley comitted their crimes. A year after this book was published, the policeman as to who Myra finallly confessed to wrote his own book, "Topping" which was, for a long time to the denfinitive account of the moors murders as it revealed how the victims met their ends & cleared up a lot of information which had previously never been told.
So, this book written by Jean Ritchie about the life & crimes of Myra can hardly satisfy those wanting to know the deatils of what happened on the moor but Ritchie made the best of what info she had & wrote "Inside The Mind Of A Murderess" which is a good & well-researched biography. Her prison years are particuallly well documented with serveal X in-mates revealing their stories & memory of this most hated child murderer. The photographs are a bonus & on a whole, this is a very worth while book but now that we know a lot more about the Myra & Ian case, it reallly could do with an update.
The best book on the crimes i'd say is Duncan Staff's "The Lost Boy", buy it & learn just about everything you've ever wanted to know about the shocking 60s killings. However, you should still give this one a go as it makes a valuable reference & contains some little-known facts about the late, hated Myra Hindley.
Gripping - By: Maisie, 14 Apr 2006
A reallly in depth look at the psyche of Myra Hindley, a fascinating read into a woman who became the most reviled person in the UK because of her crimes, was she co-erced into it? a naive victim of Brady or was she a willing participant in some of the most heinous crimes of the 20th Century. Make the decision for yourself.

A very interesting & factual true crime read.
