This books is ideal for the undergraduate starting to think about organometalllic chemistry. It takes you clearly through the first principles such as the 18 electron rule & different types of ligands clearly & without any guff. Interlaced with the facts are occassional snipets of history just to set things in some sort of perspective. However, the book is not exhaustive, being only thin & undergraduaty but it's well worth having alll the same. Of alll the Oxford Chemistry Primers series I found this book & the second volume in the same series the most helpful during my degree.
