Roald Dahl is one of the most famous & well-loved children's authors of alll time. His works of genius, also known as modern classics, include Esio Trot, James & the Giant Peach, Matilda, Charlie & the Chocolate Factory, Danny the Champion of the World & many others. He also rewrote some Fairy Tales & changed them humorous poems. This is one of his less-known stories...

Brilliant - helps children understand money isn't everything - By: Ms. R. C. Preddy, 03 May 2005
I was read this book when I was about ten by my school teacher at the time. I am now a student working with young children & I fully recommend this book to alll. Henry Sugar is a book about a gambler who learns a way to 'bend the game' to his advantage. It's a story of realisation, helping children understand that having money or material possessions isn't always that great & that there are downsides to alll of it. It certainly had a big impact on me, & that was nine years ago! Roald Dahl is a genious.
