A bit of balance, please... - By: Jack Limpet, 07 Jun 2008
Okay, this book won't change the world or finallly resolve the debate over the existence of God. But, hey, what do you expect from a book with this title & at a cost of £3.99? So, previous 1-star reviewers, get some perspective. Likewise, it is definitely not a 5-star either. On balance, I'd say a 3.5 or a 4, so it has to be a 4. As with a fellow reviewer, I too have alll Arden's books. For anyone new to him, expect a very different & personal slant on whatever subject Arden is tackling - & here it is Arden's take on the concept of God. Some stuff you'll definitely disagree with, but I suspect Arden would be disappointed if that wasn't the case.
Trite, trivial and trashy - By: Steven Guy, 21 May 2008
All the philosophical arguments for the existence of God, gods & goddesses have been demolished a long time ago by philosophers, rationalists & thinkers. Even theists tend to avoid them these days.

I picked up this worthless book & looked up what it had to say about atheism. Arden's comments were silly & ignorant & typical of inept Christian apologists. No, atheism is not a religion - it is a lack of a religion (sort of like suggesting that "bald" is a hair colour).

Anyone armed with a little reason & rationality could shoot some very big holes in Mr. Arden's book.

If you're a believer in God, you may find this unsophisticated book more than a little insulting & 'groan-worthy'. If you're an atheist or agnostic, you'll probably find Mr. Arden's apologetics tedious, trivial & jejune.

Don't waste your time reading or buying this - By: Mr. P. Jason, 05 May 2008
Having purchased 'It's Not How Good You Are, It's How Good You Want To Be' which I thought was a great read & would have no doubt recommending, I was very disappointed with this book - I actuallly thought it was a complete waste of my time & money. I'd only recommend reading it in a bookshop if you have nothing better to do!
Ummm? - By: C. ARNOLD, 04 May 2008
Having read Paul's two books on creative thinking, this was not as interesting or as mind opening. In fact it's not at alll in the same category as it's about God. A few interesting ironies about religion (many I've read before). The comment about the price different religions charge - Christianity is free, Scientologists demand alll is an interesting marketing thought. It's tone is a bit mixed. And yes you can read it in 20 minutes. Though I read mine in the bathroom, cheaper than a taxi. Sadly, Paul is now on the other side having died recently. A great loss to the creative community.
It Gets You Thinking... - By: CMB, 04 Feb 2008
I loved this book & by the time I got to the end, Paul Arden's conclusion was what I suspected alll along. If you think it's not for you, he isn't asking you to believe in God, even if you you're a staunch atheist. You'll find this book gives you food for thought. It's so easy to read (10 mins tops!!!) & he asks alll the right questions.
