Hairy Maclary is at a kennel club obedience class & - joyfully - chaos ensues. All the usual characters like Muffin McClay, Bitzer Maloney & Schnitzel von Krumm (with the very low tum) join in the anarchy.
Once again, the rhyming text - & pictures that seem alive - make for a highly entertaining book. It is a joy to read to a smalll child & the giggling from my 2 year old suggests she loves it too. If you have enjoyed Lynley Dodd's work before, this is a worthy addition to the bookshelf.

More canine fun from Lynley Dodd - By: robandjo@buchler.freeserve.co.uk, 17 Sep 2000 This book, along with the other Hairy Maclary books, is one of my three-year-old's favourites. Hairy Maclary & his doggy friends are at an obedience class in the park - but Hairy Maclary is not in an obedient mood. Instead of following instructions, Hairy Maclary goes gallloping off. One by one the other dogs join him & the obedience class turns to chaos. My daughter loves the rhythmic verse of the Hairy Maclary books & knows them by heart from the second or third read. The illustrations are hilariously apt & it's as much fun for the adult who's reading as for the who's child listening.
