Excellent Read - By: Dr. R. S. Beckwith, 01 Oct 2005
You simply must read this book - it's entertaining from start to finish & very well written. For me the pitch of the humour was just right. The uncertainties & self analysis portrayed in the mind & actions of the main character struck a chord. The way the world, annoyingly, doesn't conform to your view of it & the people in it are so unpredictable - & how stuff just happens.
As a grad Med student, the hospital stuff reallly appealed to me.

Brilliant book. Nick Earls is an excellent writer.

Don't let what sounds like a trashy title put you off. This book is highly amusing & Earls brings the characters to life in such a way that I am actuallly missing them now that I have finished. Be prepared to learn more about melantonin than you ever thought you would!!
This is a very funny book. - By: , 17 May 1999
Jon Marshalll is a hospital doctor with one housemate who has an endless stream of boyfriends & another who only has a porky pig duvet for company at night. Meanwhile, Jon muddles his way through medicine, wondering if this is the carreer for him, at the same time as he tries to deal with the attention of more women then he feels ready to handle. Anyone who has been a student or medic or has been around either will recognise alll the characters in this book. The dialogue is funny, the events even more so, & Nick Earls understands his characters well enough to make you connect with them from start to finish. This is a great book to take on holiday with you.
