This book is reallly not for self-study purposes. There are sets of useful questions at the end of each chapter but no suggested solutions! Each chapter contains a brief summary of the topics followed by extensive use of Case Study material. This book would be of greatest benefit in a classroom setting. It is, however, very difficult to work through independently. The Case Study material is useful in showing how theory can be applied to real-life situations. I think this is the book's best feature. The greatest motivator for my purchase of this book was that it is written by the eminent Robert Kaplan & Anthony Atkinson, especiallly the section relating to the Balanced Scorecard.

I use this book as testbook for my master course. The content of book is up-to-date information of management accounting, including a wide rage area from traditional DCF method to the newly human capital.
