My class have enjoyed this little book, it reallly brought the nativity to life, it happened to real people!! I have used this for alll primary school ages & every year they love it!
A Gem! - By: Mrs. Ruth Grainger, 09 Aug 2006 This is one of those books that should be on alll children's bookshelves - 'round the back' is now a family catchphrase. A wonderful, wonderful little book. I challlenge anyone to read this aloud & not get caught up in the excitement!

Jesus' arrival - so far as the inn keeper is concerned - is just one more thing when he longs to go to sleep. People interrupt him every time he drops off; the door-knocker never stops; first its shepherds, then its... well you know the story! but you have never heard it told like this.
and at the end? well there is a reallly brilliant surprise ending.
oh & the drawings are just cool. Well our children think they are, & we just love reading it!
Absolutely wonderful! - By: , 17 Nov 2003 I have used this book in my classroom for several years. The children BEG to have it read on a daily basis. It adds an element of reality to an otherwise very solemn event in a comical yet engaging manner. Parents often ask me what book am I reading because their children come home retelling it. My only concern is that it is no longer available here in the States. If you don't have it, you should plan to make it part of your Christmas collection!
Some humor for Christmas - By: emily@aol.com, 10 Dec 2001 THis book is adored by my kids, even out of Xmas. It adds some humor to the way in which the arrival of Mary & Joseph is unwelcome by the innkeeper. He just can't get to sleep until...well, have a laugh!
