Glory Gardens saved my childhood! - By: confused tourist, 19 Jan 2008
I have very fond memories of the Glory Gardens series, having read a lot of sporting fiction as a kid I would definitely consider this the best of the series' I read. Brilliantly written with some infinitely memorable characters - Frankie, Clive & Ohbert spring to mind - I would thoroughly recommend these books to any kid with an interest in cricket.
Howzat?.....Definitely a winner - By: , 12 Jul 1999
An excellent book for introducing children to the game of cricket. Nicely balances a good story line with reminders about technique, rules & jargon about cricket. Don't know who enjoyed it more, me or my son! I've got the next books in the series on order now.
Fun and enjoyable for all - By: , 31 Jan 1999
Bob Cattell's book Glory in the cup is simpley a great book that anyone will love, it has alll the cricketing terms, & easy-to-understand pictures. If you've never picked up a cricket bat then even you will love it. You don't have to know anything about cricket. The story involves Hooker who loves cricket, he & his freinds form a cricket team with the help of the coach Kiddo. Overalll a brilliant book. Tom Gardner
