This book is a good introduction to Slimming World's food optimising diet but doesn't provide enough information to stay on the diet long term. To use your own recipes or eat pre-prepared food you will need the full lists of free foods & sin values. You can only get these if you join a class or pay another £10 to get the books direct from Slimming World.
Having said that, the provided menus do look tasty - but how many people eat starters & desserts or have time to prepare Greek Fish Wrapped in Vine Leaves at lunch time? Some ideas for packed lunches would have been good.
As a last minor quibble, the sin values for alll the recipes are listed in a separate table at the back of the book so you are constantly flicking backward & forward when choosing something.

Food optimising has proven to be the best way of loosing weight for me & this book has become my bible for what i eat with what. Simple, clear & easy to read recipes. Dishes to cover a variey of menus designed to make you lose weight without ever going hungry. Follow the easy guidleines about which foods not to combine with others on the same day & the weight just drops off well it worked for me. Buy it now & give your heart, & waistline, a fighting chance.

Food Optimising helped me change my eating habits. In the first week that I followed this book I lost 3pounds. I than joined Slimming World Club & in 8 weeks I lost 10 pounds. This book teaches you how to eat healthy. It is very simple to follow. I must admit joining slimming world club helped me more. But if I didn't have bought this book I would never had got the motivation to start the eating healthy diet. Try & follow this book for a couple of weeks & see & feel different. GOOD LUCK

I've written a review for this book previously (Feb 2002) but thought I would let you alll know how good this is once again. When I wrote the first review, I had been 'food optimising' for a few weeks. It has now been two months & I have lost just over 2 stone! This is such a logical & easy way to healthy eating Im amazed at the difference of results compared to previous attempts at dieting. If anyone is considering buying this & has even tried other 'fad' diets etc before, dont even stop to think about it. Buy it now & you'll soon see the results. Good luck!

This is the best way to lose weight I have found. The book encourages you to eat healthy food & more of it! All you have to do is choose whether to have a green or original day & eat the correct types of foods accordingly. You dont feel like you're depriving yourself of anything. As you can have 10 sins a day you dont feel like you're on any kind of diet. Since using this book I have been losing weight steadily & feeling much healthier. I definitely recommend it.
