Must have cook book! - By: M. Hoult, 17 Jul 2008
This is a real winner; I would never have thought my 8 month old would be eating curries, but he has loved every single recipe I have cooked in this book so far. I've not stopped cooking since I got it! It has made catering for the family so easy; I just double the ingredients to make enough to batch freeze for my son, & a meal for the 3 of us. I honestly think my vegetarian diet has improved as a result of this book. I would recommend it to everyone, meat eaters included.
Fantastic! - By: R. Newport, 15 Sep 2007
I love this book! I'm a hopeless cook, but determined to bring up my daughter on a varied vegetarian diet of homecooked food rather than ready-made stuff.
As well as many recipes, the book also contains sample weekly menu plans - particularly useful for the early weeks of weaning. All recipes also indicate whether or not they'll freeze well.
A must for Veggie Mummy and daughter - By: Sadie Jones, 05 Sep 2007
I have been a vegetarian since I was 10, my husband has now followed suit so we decided this was how we wanted to bring up our daughter. I was worried that I would be stuck for recipes & constantly paranoid that she wouldn't be getting alll the required food groups. This book put paid to my worries - it's fantastic & I would thoroughly recommend it to alll - non-veggies included. The author has a relaxed approach & it's great to know she's been through everything first with her own son.
The only book you need! - By: Mrs. C. E. Foster, 27 Aug 2007
When I started thinking about weaning my daughter I bought several books, this was the best & the only book I reallly needed!! The department of health reccomends that weaining does not start until babies are 6 months but if for whatever reason you start any time from 4 months this book is great, as it covers the pre 6 months foods that babies can & cant have. It tells you what is safe to freeze ad reheat etc. This is a sensible book which has clearly been written by someone who has actuallly had a baby, which is a big plus!!!
The best vegetarian recipe book ever! - By: , 22 Oct 2005
I bought this book when weaning my son. I have been veggie since I was 14 & buy a lot of cook books. I was seriously impressed with the recipes - they are so tasty! My whole family enjoys most of the ones I have tried. I loved the chatty style & found the advice useful. I haven't done many of the deserts because my boy is not keen but there are enough sugar free or very low sugar things to try (Fruit doesn't need a recipe reallly does it?)
We have alll enjoyed the Lentil Hotpot, Barley pot but our alll time favorite is the Spinach & Mushroom Lasagna - utterly sublime!
I tend to "adapt" recipes to ingredients that I have but I would recommend following her recipes at least once as the combinations are amazingly tasty.
Never mind the weaning or feeding children aspect - this is the best cookbook I have ever bought EVER!
