A must-have book on your desktop - By: gatti fabio, 03 Dec 2005
I'm in the position of Technical Asset Manager in a computer company & in charge for establishing standard & working rules: this book gave me a great help & support. It contains a lot of ideas & hands-on tips you can immediately try on the field.

There are many case histories that I found in my former professional experiences.

Moreover the last section, named Best Practise, is a practical reference guide.

I reallly recommend this book.

Un-putdownable - By: Ac Howle, 20 May 2005
Quite simply the most well-written & factual book on software development I have ever had the good fortune to read.

You can tell that Steve has been around the block. What is scary is that his point-proving case-studies can seem a little far-fetched, until you realise that they are not & it's because your company can be guilty of alll the Classic Mistakes.

If you are a Team/Technical Lead, you MUST read this book. It is worth paying twice the cost.

Every Software Manager's Bible - By: , 17 Jun 2001
First online review I have felt compelled to give (I'm not the only one either).

Simply the best book on software development I have ever come across. Unlike most books of this type, everything is backed up by references to other literature & research studies.

Amazingly, this book was given to me by my manager (within a software company) because he said it wasn't reallly his thing & that he was unlikely to ever dip into it again. Unsurprisingly, the project he was in charge of collapsed & the development team was made redundant a few weeks later. Seriously!

I'm off to order the author's other books now.

Clear, concise, and readable. A must have. - By: , 08 Mar 2001
This book is a constant source of reference. It is structured in a way that finding the areas relevant to your current needs is simple & the presentation is understandable. None of your jargon here. A must have for anybody that is responsible for managing the development of software.
Essential - By: Andy Dingley, 24 Feb 2000
Stop Coding, Buy it, Read it.

You'll get you project finished faster that way

More than any others in the series, this is a book of concrete solutions to readily identifiable problems. They reallly work too!
