iPAQ Pocket PC - By: , 10 Nov 2005
More of a "What your iPAQ can be used for" than a "How to do it" book. You will glean more from the forums. Interesting reading, non-the-less.
Fine for older low spec IPAQs - By: george barr, 06 May 2004
This book does not cover the newer IPAQ models & features such as are found in the 5000series etc . IPAQ for Dummies is much more up to date & a better read if you have later models.

A bad buy....for me at any rate

Not too much help? - By: T. Gosnall, 27 Aug 2003
Confused by the two reviews that already existed for this product (one saying it was 5 stars & the other giving it 2) I decided to give the book ago. It's not a bad book, but I think that if you have a reasonable level of skill with your iPAQ then this book will add little extra. It does not give to many secrets about the inner workings of PocketPC & the iPAQ & is more an overview. There are however some useful web resources from which you can pick up some useful programs that get that little bit extra from this useful machine.
A huge return for a small investment... - By: , 13 Jan 2003
I read the comments from the other review above & felt I should comment. This book was written before the 3970 iPAQ was released, & the Nevo software wasn't out on the earlier models. I don't believe that the comments above are a fair assessment...

I had a Palm. I used it to look up addresses & phone numbers. Then I spent $500 on a fancy ipaq, so now I could look up addresses in color... I think the reason I never reallly did more was I didn't understand how to use alll the stuff that comes with it. This book helped me to understand a lot more & now I use my iPAQ way more & get much better value out of my investment. I would recommend this to any ipaq owner who isn't getting their money's worth out of their device!

How to do the basics with your IPAQ - By: , 13 Oct 2002
Having recently purchased an IPAQ intending to use it extensively for both work & play, I thought that a book entitled 'How to Do Everything with Your Ipag Pocket PC' was just what I needed. However, I was very disappointed to find that the book does not even cover alll the functionality of the out of the box software.

There is no mention of the Nevo remote control software for controlling devices such as your TV & stereo around the house, or of how to create, store & listen to MP3 in conjunction with the multi windows media player. Instead there are large chapters devoted to using pocket word & excel & playing games, not of which the proficient PC user needs.

I did find some of the information on GPS navigation, & hardware & software accessories useful, as well as some of the tips & websites. However, don't believe what is says of the cover, this book should be entitled, "How to do the basics with your IPAQ" & nothing more.
