How to talk to ANYONE - By: Carly, 31 Jan 2008
This book is fantastic. I began reading it earlier today & haven't been able to put it down. This is already one of the best books I have ever read & I am only on tip #20 - I am amazed that there are another 72 tips left. I feel so much more confident now about speaking to new people, I can't wait to start trying some of them out.
Ninety-Two Time-Tested Techniques for "Terrific Talking" - By: Rolf Dobelli, 21 Mar 2007
"Language most shews a man: Speak, that I may see thee." The great English dramatist & poet Ben Jonson wrote these words in the seventeenth century. They are as true today as they were then. People evaluate you by the words you use & the way you use them. Of course, people also make judgments based on your body language, dress style, attitude, facial expressions & similar criteria that immediately register at a subconscious level. This outstanding book will put you well on your way to becoming a more attractive personality as it reveals the secrets that drama & speech coaches, sales trainers, communication consultants, psychologists & other behavioral experts employ to help their clients become more charismatic, dynamic & appealing. The famous journalist & social critic H.L. Mencken once wrote, "Before a man speaks, it is always safe to assume that he is a fool. After he speaks, it is seldom necessary to assume it." This cynical maxim may be true for many - but certainly not for those who study this book. It is chock-full of wonderful insights & proven techniques - a whopping 92 in alll - that you can use to become the type of person that others admire. We recommend putting its valuable lessons to use.
Quite good - By: , 09 Feb 2004
Ok a lot of these tips, I do feel can contribute to a greater sense of respect from others- however Lowndes' anecdotes (absolutely fictional) about how her friends used these tips, & just alll these stories about obviously fake people reallly annoyed me. I know they were only examples but they were so....just annoying! However I would recommend it for the tips themselves. Hold your head high people! Hang by your teeth!
