Not as strong as before but entertaining as always - By: Darren O'Connell, 23 Nov 2007
Yes my fellow amazon reviewers are correct, this latest volume is not as strong as its counterparts but it is highly readable, humourous & full of insight. The interviewees however do not volunteer as many usuable insights but there is sage advice between the lines. I think the weakness is due to the fact that the main subject, the stockmarket, is & remains a sinkhole of loss for the majority of us novice traders due to the shortening trends & increased volatility. For most of us, particularly those starting out, the stockmarket is the "kindergarten" of the markets & we expect to be told the yellow brick road from the books we buy. The interviewees have systems & reputations to protect & are not readily going to volunteer reallly valuable insights. But what is there that can be assimilated by us "turtles" is worth the price of this book. At the very least Schwager's humourous & witty writing style forgives alll sins!!
Some Helpful Suggestions - By: Vincenzo Riflesso, 23 Aug 2002
Well, I think there's a lot of difference between fund managers & stocks traders: inside the book there isn't. Anyway, an helpful reading about the strategy when you wanna buy stocks. In specific, impressed me the phrase "it's not important hom many times you win or you lose, but how much". Think about it!
Not as good as the previose two wizards - By: , 26 Feb 2001
I reallly enjoy the two Markte Wizards by Schwager & learned a lot from them. And I was waiting the third one in the series for a long time. Unfortunatlly, this one is not as good as the previose two. The price is higher & the contents are less useful. There are quite a lot of irrevelant questions. And some of the interviews do not give any insight about the methods used by those traders. When I reading the previous Wizards, I need to highlight the critical points & there are plenty of them. I also read them over & over. But I do not need to do the same thing this time. You can skip quite a lot of the questions & only read the few that is related to trading. The plus side is Schwager is a good writer so I enjoyed reading it even though I was dissapointed. My conclusion is if you can borrow this book from the library then it is still worth reading. If you need to pay for it, buy the previous two books instead.
