Novice or expert - an excellent chart interpretation guide - By: , 15 Apr 2005
I've just ordered another copy of this book because the first, which I bought when I began studying astrology nearly a quarter of a century ago, has been used so much, it's disintegrated! For the novice or the experienced astrologer, if you buy just one book to help with chart interpretation, make it this one.
Taking a serious interest towards a fine art. - By: V. Bowling, 13 Nov 2003
I dipped into this book once & became hooked. I already had an interest in astrology & was keen to find out more. This book teaches & informs on many levels. I learnt how to construct my own charts using tables & ephemeris, a complicated business at the best of times; explanations & interpretations followed. It is crammed with information, serious stuff, written for the layman, it opens up the mind without bias. This is a teaching book but it does not rely on quotes & examples to get the message across. My subsequent astrological development stands on this secure foundation stone, many years later, & I still rely on this book being there for me. My only criticism: it stops too soon.
A rarity- an astrology book of real substance. - By: , 02 Dec 1999
The Handbook is without doubt the best alll-in-one text you can buy for chart erection, aspects, signs & houses, with much 'hard' detail & very little psychobabble. It assumes you believe in Karma & reincarnation, which you may or may not, but don't let this distract you: it can be a little 'wooden' in style, but you'll keep coming back to this book time & time again because it is so comprehensive- & because most of the competition isn't. Together with Ebertin, Carter & Pelletier it should be on every serious astrologer's shelf.
For the serious astrologer - By: , 31 Jul 1999
This is a must have for the serious astrologer. It is, so far, the only book I have been able to find to give step-by-step instructions for creating your own chart, the thing I was most interested in. Sure it is easier to pay someone to chart for you, but where is the fun?
a life time student of astology - By: , 17 Apr 1999
This book is the corner stone of astrology. It is easily understood by serious students of astology. It gets five stars not because it is the best written book on the subject, but because it is a must have for your astrology library.
