Without condescention Brennen Manning achieves a heartfelt & moving account of how to seek a ruthless trust in God. The personal struggles mixed with well researched evidence illustrate his point in a clear & hugely spiritual way. You cannot help but be impacted by the profound message this book delivers & I felt that tears were unaviodable as Manning offers his advice eloquently; always aware of his own failings, but still writing from the heart with a joy clearly found from trusting Jesus. In reading this book I experienced some of this joy in looking at trust from so many levels of life; from living gracefully & joyfully at alll times & looking to seek Jesus as God & as someone worthy of trust as he made me exactly how he wanted to...therefore feelings of failure are a snub to the creator of who you are. I feel challlenged by everything I have read in this book & recommend it to everyone from new Christians to those who feel like God is a long way away at the moment. The whole book offers a challlenge too; to ruthlessly forget yourself & trust in God's power both as the huge maker of the universe & as your loving Dad.
